Bio: Dr. Stephen Pierotti, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon able to treat a vast majority of orthopedic problems and welcomes patients at GMHC’s Specialty Clinic. He provides both the conservative, non-surgical approach to musculoskeletal ailments, as well as surgical remedies that may become necessary when time, nature and non-surgical means do not produce an acceptable outcome. As a general orthopedic surgeon, he is familiar with and specializes in joint replacement for advanced arthritis, sports medicine, the treatment of traumatic injuries, arthroscopy, and hand surgery. As an orthopedic physician, he attempts to achieve non-surgical resolution of symptoms in most cases. This often includes a variety of ancillary medical services, including physical therapy and occupational therapy. Dr. Pierotti is board-certified in orthopedic surgery.  He obtained his medical degree from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine and has been in practice for more than 20 years. Pierotti completed his internship and residency in Orthopedic Surgery at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery.
